Skimming and Scanning
In this class we did some exercises to learn about two
styles for read, Skimming and scanning.
Here is the explanation about these terms:
Skimming:
Skimming is
a speed reading technique which is used to locate the general sense of reading
or some part of it. This technique will become much time and gives you a
general idea of what is the text or paragraph.
Scanning:
Scanning is
a skill that requires you to read quickly in the search for specific
information. To scan a reading text, you must start at the top of the page and
then move your eyes quickly to the bottom. In general, exploration is a
technique that is useful when you are looking for an answer to a question
known. This is especially useful when taking a test.
